In ancient times, genuine parchment was developed as a valuable writing material. Scrolls and books
with sacred writings and images have survived for thousands of years. Today, real parchment has almost
disappeared from our everyday lives, as it is time-consuming and expensive to produce by hand.
Industrially manufactured plastic products imitate the technical properties and in some cases improve
them. However, if different properties are required at the same time, the natural material is usually
superior. In addition, real parchment is a renewable raw material.
Pendant luminaire 6x0, diameter approx. 60 cm
The lampshades are made from recycled parchment from musical instrument making. Folded on the surface,
they create heights and depths which, in combination with light, result in a wonderful appearance.
The interplay of genuine parchment and iron - two such contrasting materials - reveals a formal language
that is both elemental and delicate and minimalist.
